My name is Dr. Greg Echols, and I’m proud to call Burlington, NC my hometown. My passion for veterinary medicine began in 2007, when I set out to earn my bachelor’s in Animal Care and Management. After receiving my associate’s degree, I continued my studies at NC A&T State University, where I completed my bachelor’s in Laboratory Animal Science.

While working toward my degree, I gained invaluable hands-on experience as a veterinary assistant at a local animal hospital—a role I held for over seven years. In 2020, I achieved a major milestone by earning my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. From there, I completed a rigorous one-year internship in emergency and surgery, followed by a year as a general practitioner.

For the past three years, I have served as a relief veterinarian, providing compassionate, high-quality care to pets across a variety of clinics. My journey in veterinary medicine has been fueled by a deep love for animals and a commitment to making a difference in their lives.

Outside of veterinary medicine, I’m a competitive bodybuilder and powerlifter—a passion that’s taught me the value of discipline, meticulous preparation, and attention to detail. These qualities naturally extend to my professional interests, especially my focus on soft tissue surgery. I’m drawn to the challenge and precision this specialty demands, and I find the technical rigor of surgery deeply rewarding, much like my commitment to training and competition.
