I’m excited to share that I’ve accepted a position in Morrisville, NC as an urgent care veterinarian at a brand new hospital called Priority Pet. Many of you know I’ve been shifting away from general practice and focusing more on urgent care, and I’ve found I truly thrive in an environment where I can zero in on the immediate issue at hand.
The truth is, even when I was booked for “wellness” appointments, most of those visits ended up being more complicated. So handling urgent cases is something I’m used to and manage efficiently. At Priority Pet, my work will be solely urgent care, but with the added bonus of having a full surgical suite. That means I can continue doing surgery, which is rare in most urgent care clinics where procedures are typically limited to minor lacerations.
Priority Pet is open from 4pm to midnight, seven days a week. As an added bonus, I get to work alongside Dr. Davis, my classmate from undergrad, who is now the medical director and owner. Aggie Pride! The team here is diverse, experienced, and I’ve been genuinely impressed by how everyone jumps in to help each other out when needed.
I’m looking forward to this new chapter as an urgent care veterinarian! I’ll still be offering some limited relief services in general practice as I make this transition. At Priority Pet, we’re equipped to perform surgery, run blood profiles, provide abdominal and chest imaging, end-of-life care, and more.
